On December 6th, the Penn State (Beta) Chapter of the engineering honors fraternity, Tau Beta Pi, held its induction ceremonies.  For the first time in the organization’s 130-year history, an honor student and both parents were inducted at the same time.
Joshua Bowman, a senior pursuing  B.S. degrees in both mechanical engineering and nuclear engineering, was inducted as an honor student. His parents, Jeffrey Bowman, a nuclear engineer from the Penn State class of 1973, and Rebecca Bowman, a civil/structural engineer from the University of North Dakota class of 1976, were both inducted as eminent engineers.
Joshua is scheduled to graduate in December 2016. Jeffrey has been with the Bechtel Marine Propulsion Laboratory in West Mifflin — more widely known as Bettis — since his graduation. Rebecca has a combined practice as a forensic engineer and attorney in Peters Township, as well as chairing the Township’s Construction Appeals Board and serving as Vice President of the Peters Township School Board.
