Structural Engineer

Job Description: Keystone Structural Group, LLC (KSG) is currently looking for an experienced, mid-level structural engineer for our Scranton, Pennsylvania office. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in structural building design as well as construction document preparation.

Job Purpose: Perform engineering work relating to the design and construction of architectural projects associated with building structural design.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs site surveys and investigations, structural analysis, and design assistance working with project managers to develop construction drawings.
  • Engages in the design of building superstructures and foundations, equipment foundations, utility bridges and supports, access platforms, and stairs.
  • Collaborates with project managers and clients to promote teamwork, client satisfaction, continual improvement and profitability.

Additional Skills Required:

  • Excellent oral and written communication and leadership skills.
  • Self-management and organizational skills; able to manage workload, set priorities and adjust as needed. High aptitude for solving problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff members.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • E.I.T. registration required, P.E. or S.E. registration preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years engineering experience.
  • Must have experience with computer applications and design software such as AutoCAD, Enercalc, Ram Structural Systems, Microsoft Office.
  • Must have experience with steel, concrete, masonry, timber design; and familiarity with applicable codes, such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
  • Must be proficient with reading construction plans.

Job Description: NDI Engineering Company is seeking Electrical Engineers with a concentration in power systems to support the design of test facilities for Naval Ship Systems. The selected candidate will be part of a project team and will interface with program managers, U.S. Navy engineers, and equipment manufacturers. The selected candidate will design electrical power systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), prepare analysis reports, develop specifications for electrical equipment, develop one-line and schematic diagrams and oversee development of installation drawings.  BS in Electrical Engineering and/or 4 or more years of electrical power systems experience. GIS Administrator

Job Location: York, PA

Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President – Engineering, the GIS Administrator contributes to the effective operation of the Engineering Department through the support and maintenance of the Geographic Information System (GIS) databases and cadastral mapping system. This position is responsible for a wide range of duties related to the development and maintenance of the GIS system, administration and maintenance for the Company’s on-premise and cloud-based databases, and will assist with the support of the information technology (IT) infrastructure as required.

The incumbent will be required to maintain GIS and SQL server databases, including developing methodologies for database input and maintenance by staff; assisting with the development, alteration or refinement of GIS capabilities to meet departmental and corporate requirements; design, develop, compile, update, analyze, and maintain a wide variety of GIS data in the Company’s databases and provide customization and support in ArcGIS Server and Desktop, AutoCAD, and other related software.

The GIS Administrator creates a clear vision for enterprise GIS deployment to support organizational goals. The incumbent has broad knowledge of GIS applications, capabilities, and system requirements. Responsible for planning the overall structure of GIS systems within the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Maintain, update, and improve the Company’s GIS.
  2. Conduct GIS database analyses / queries and develop reports and maps.
  3. Maintain / archive data regarding company assets (drawings, specifications, etc.)
  4. Develop drawings in CAD format for Company projects.
  5. Utilize global positioning system (GPS) equipment and software to acquire and record data regarding Company assets.
  6. Maintain the Company’s GIS and CAD hardware and software.
  7. Coordinate responses to external requests for mapping data (PA One Call, governmental agencies, etc.)
  8. Provide network and PC assistance as required.
  9. Assist the Construction and Engineering Departments with various office and field activities, as needed.
  10. Serve on the Company’s IT Committee.
  11. Make periodic reports to the Vice President-Engineering regarding activities, programs, etc.
  12. Be available for emergency duty, as assigned.
  13. Consistently demonstrate positive and professional behavior with all individuals contacted on behalf of the Company including customers, employees, vendors, consultants, and contractors.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited educational institution with a minimum of 2-years of experience is required. An Associate’s degree with a minimum of 5-years of related experience will be considered.

Significant course work and experience with ESRI GIS and AutoCAD software products is essential. Must also be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Access. Training and experience with Oracle database software and Trimble GPS hardware and software is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction drawings, maps, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers, visitors, contractors or employees.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possess a valid PA driver’s license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Efficiently and accurately use office equipment including copier, telephone, facsimile machine, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to work under stress and occasionally work additional hours in order to meet deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Job Description: The Department of General Services (DGS) is currently seeking a motivated, experienced Design & Construction Project Manager (Electrical) located in Harrisburg, PA. The selected candidate will manage Capital Funded projects from initial assignment of the project through the post-construction to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality designs.  Negotiate, draft, issue and approve payments for outside professional fees and work orders for all assigned projects within the projected dollar value.

A professional engineering license is preferred.

Required Experience: Six years of professional building design, construction administration, or construction management experience for renovations and new construction for commercial, institutional, or educational buildings, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, construction science, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment: Possession of valid licensure as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, Professional Land Surveyor, or Professional Geologist by the Commonwealth of PA or a reciprocal jurisdiction; or possession of a valid professional level certification issued by a nationally recognized and accredited professional certification program in Master Level of Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
