Order of the Engineer Ceremony, May 2015
Order of the Engineer Ceremony, May 2015

Professor Brenda Read-Daily of Elizabethtown College and several of her students wanted to have an Order of the Engineer ceremony for the engineering students graduating this spring, however, there were challenges.
Professor Read-Daily did the paperwork to form a link with the Order of the Engineer, but she needed the ceremonial ring and a few experienced leaders for the ceremony. She reached out to the PSPE state office and Past President Sprague, President Tappert, and Lincoln Chapter State Director Jim DiLouie immediately volunteered to help out. The ceremony was held on Friday, May 15th and, judging from the reaction of the inductees in the photograph, it was a resounding success.
The PSPE ceremonial rings have been present this year at five university ceremonies – Elizabethtown College, Penn State Harrisburg, Temple University, Villanova University, and Wilkes University – helping to fulfill PSPE’s mission to introduce professionalism to recent engineering graduates.
For engineers who wish to join the Order, there will be a ceremony at the annual PSPE conference in September.
