Award's Committee

Dear PSPE member,

Appointed by the Lincoln Chapter President and approved by the Board, the awards committee has been activated in order "to recognize, in a dignified public way, the achievements of those in the York-Lancaster-Adams County region who have enhanced the honor, reputation, and usefulness of the engineering profession."

It the committee's pleasure to announce the Lifetime Achievement Award has been established. At a minimum for qualification, the Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to applicants that meet the criteria listed below. Deadline for submission is November 30th of each year. Please include a cover letter and biography of the applicant and send to:

Interviews will be requested by the awards committee, as necessary. Presentations are anticipated to occur at the February monthly meeting.

Minimum Criteria for Lifetime Achievement Award:
1. Be a U.S. citizen.
2. PSPE Life Membership is preferred but not required.
3. Retired or be of retirement age. (Retirement age will be recognized as 60 years old).
4. Has advanced the profession through stewardship, sound judgement, and application of engineering principals which have resulted in the safety, health, and welfare of the public.
5. Act in accordance with the Engineer Code of Ethics and the Engineers Creed:

Engineers' Creed
As a Professional Engineer, I dedicate my professional knowledge and skill to the advancement and betterment of human welfare.
I pledge:
To give the utmost of performance;
To participate in none but honest enterprise;
To live and work according to the laws of man and the highest standards of professional conduct;
To place service before profit, the honor and standing of the profession before personal advantage, and the public welfare above all other considerations.
In humility and with need for Divine Guidance, I make this pledge.
