Bridge Building

The PSPE Bridge Building Competition is an exciting way for high school students to showcase their engineering talent. Held annually, in February, the competition is open to all students, but only grades 9 thru 12 are prize eligible. All bridges are made with the same material, which is supplied to the students, and the bridge must conform to certain criteria in order to qualify for testing. Prizes are distributed to the top three bridges which show the highest structural efficiency, meaning the bridge that carries the biggest load with regard to its own weight. Contact a chapter officer for additional information.
