Instrumentation Engineer

  • You will regularly interface with clients and multidisciplinary project team members
  • You will serve as I&C engineer for projects ranging from minor control system upgrades to major new system designs and installations including the following:
    • SCADA System server and Database Architecture
    • (OT) and (IT) Network Architectures and Riser Diagrams
    • P&IDs

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • A strong technical background with three to fifteen years of hands-on experience designing instrumentation and controls in a consulting engineering role is required
  • A four-year degree in a technical or engineering related field is required, electrical or controls engineering is preferred
  • Experience designing water and/or wastewater process control systems is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
  • A licensed professional engineer (PE) in at least one of the mid-Atlantic states is preferred.
  • Experience with ISA standards and recommended practices is preferred
  • Project Management experience is preferred
  • Familiar with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework design requirements is preferred

  • Design of electrical systems including: low/medium voltage power distribution, standby/emergency generation, interior/exterior lighting for buildings and roadways, access control, security and fire alarm systems

Highway Engineer

As a key member of the Valley Forge Transportation Practice, the successful candidate will be responsible for engineering and management of major transportation projects in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and with PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other agencies. The primary focus will be on highway and multi-disciplined transportation design projects such as traditional design-bid-build as well as design build and P3 delivery methods. As a Project Engineer responsibilities will include completion and oversight of all facets of design (Roadway, E & S, drainage, NPDES, etc.) for complex projects.  As an Assistant Project Manager responsibilities will include assisting the Project Manager on project delivery such as client coordination, coordination and oversight of subconsultants, coordination with third party entities, etc.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform design tasks, plans preparation, report preparation, and calculations for various transportation projects.
  • Provide overall assistance in multifaceted highway/transportation projects.
  • Perform quantity estimates, cost estimates, and prepare specifications.
  • Check calculations, reports, and drawings
  • Run models, CAD and design software – Microstation and InRoads Preferred
  • Perform Horizontal and Vertical Alignments designs.
  • Typical Sections, Drainage Design, Construction Staging/ Maintenance of Traffic
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of activities of civil engineering projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and clients
  • Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of design for complex highway projects.
  • Oversee and train staff on all aspects of design.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 8-10 years progressive experience in the design of highway/roadway civil engineering transportation projects primarily in Pennsylvania
  • Licensed Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience Microstation and InRoads Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working on/with design teams on large, complex engineering projects.
  • Must have knowledge and applicable experience with PennDOT’s approved design software packages in addition to MS Office Software

Electrical Engineer

This individual will lead the preparation of electrical design criteria documents, electrical design directive drawings, electrical system calculations, electrical system technical analyses, electrical system contract design drawings, detailed specifications and performance based specifications for electrical power distribution and related systems.

Other responsibilities will include:

The candidate will be responsible for design and production of documents with the assistance of cad techs;  heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems; plumbing systems; fluid distribution systems; fire protection systems; site utilities; and process mechanical systems.  Experience required includes systems design and applications, economic evaluations, life-cycle cost analyses, energy conservation, equipment selection, specifications, construction estimating, bidding documents and construction administration.  Work also involves field surveys of mechanical systems and performing energy studies.  Projects involve public works, industrial, military, mass transit, health-care, educational, and commercial facilities.   • Survey and studies of building mechanical equipment and systems
  • Design of HVAC systems, building automation systems, plumbing systems and fire suppression systems
  • Progress and other report writing
  • Project specification writing
  • Proactive problem identification and resolution
  • Coordination and verification of project deliverables
  • Assistant project management duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT is required. PE preferred
  • 5-10 years experience in a consulting mechanical engineering firm with a thorough understanding of mechanical building codes and construction standards
  • Understanding of DDC controls and controls design and operation
  • Knowledge of Engineering programs for ASHRAE based energy calculations such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP
  • AutoCAD proficient; Revit proficiency highly desired
  • Experience with K-12, Higher Ed, water/wastewater, and federal facilities preferred
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills are required
