FLEXKRETE ONE HOUR CONCRETE REPAIR

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

1 - SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces should be clean, free of oil, dirt, debris, grease, scale, coatings, asphalt, contamination and MOISTURE (If moisture exists, heat area to be filled with propane torch until completely dry). For best results, clean, rough concrete should be exposed. Using duct tape to symmetrically mark off the area to be repaired will produce a full-depth repair appearance.

2 - MIXING:
To assure total dispersion of chemicals, container may be stored upside down, then prior to use, shake vigorously for two minutes-or remove lid and power mix.

3 - PRIMING:
Determine how much primer is needed for the defined work area, then, mix in the appropriate amount of catalyst-- approx. 1.5 oz. per gallon of FlexKrete, ¾ oz for each half gallon, 3/8 for each quart, etc. MIX FOR THREE FULL MINUTES. Apply to all facets of the area with a brush and/or roller. The trowel mix may be applied immediately or later, as long as the primed area remains clean. If there are several separate areas of repair, one may first prime all of them, then follow with the trowel mix.

4 - TROWEL MIX:
Determine how much product is needed for the job, and mix catalyst and FlexKrete in proper portions. Then, for each part of FlexKrete, mix in 3 ½-4 parts of clean, DRY, (Heat with a propane torch if any moisture exists) bagged, blast sand. Coarse or medium grade sand gives some of the best trowelability. To trowel to a very fine feather edge, as on curbs or smooth surfaces, use fine sand. BE SURE TO MEASURE THE SAME AMOUNT OF SAND FOR EACH BATCH. For a gray color, use less sand, (approx 3-3 ½ parts). For a tan color, use approx. 4 parts of sand. Mix only the amount that can be poured and troweled within the setup time, (approx. 15-20 minutes). MIX FOR THREE FULL MINUTES, until all sand is blended. A tine or broom finish may be acquired, but must be done early in the curing process. Also, a pumice stone, or rubbing stone, is great for smoothing and feathering, just prior to the final set.

5 - DEEP HOLES:
For repairs 2-4" deep or more, a slurry of FlexKrete with ½ rocks or gravel, and ½ sand may be used to fill within 1-2 inches of the surface. Then, use the normal FlexKrete/sand mix to finish top surface. DO NOT OVER-TROWEL. When product begins to set, finish or pat smooth with the trowel and quit. Acetone may be applied to trowel for last-minute smooth finish, but LIMIT AMOUNT USED. Install joints or dummy joints at proper places, pull duct tape and allow to cure. A full movement joint may be installed by troweling up to a separator material, like a plastic joint material, remove it after a few minutes, then fill the void with sealant. (The separator material may be sprayed with a lubricant, like PAM, for easy removal.) Normally 45-90 minutes are needed to return to full traffic, depending on temperature, humidity, etc.

6 - VERTICAL & OVERHEAD REPAIR:
Prime areas as usual and allow a few minutes for it to tack. Mix 2 parts Cabosil and 2 parts sand with 1 part FlexKrete and trowel into place. For thicker applications, two or more coats may be required. (More Cabosil may be used to attain a lighter mix.)

7- CLEANUP
Clean tools and equipment with acetone.
